Practical Learning on Country in Lightning Ridge The Lightning Ridge Area Opal Reserve supports hands on, place based education across the opal fields. We partner with schools and community groups to deliver practical programs linked to land, culture, and real skills.

Through Hands On Learning at Lightning Ridge Central School, students take part in structured projects across the Reserve that build confidence and teamwork.

We also support BroSpeak, an Aboriginal youth initiative that strengthens cultural identity, leadership, and connection to Country.
